Tracking New Guests

Yesterday's services were top shelf. We had several Courtesy Visits (People who are members at other churches), but overall, the attendance was up again. We had 79 people in attendance with several new college students and a new family of four.

Since our church's conception we have always used communication cards to track our guests. Lately, this has not been too effective. Russell and I have been trying to re-think our strategy on tracking new guests. Should we buy a Guest Book? Should we grab our guests by the collar and make them fill out a card? or Should we offer new cars for every new person in attendance?

Seriously though, we have wondered what the most effective way to track new guests. If you have any suggestions, please comment below. Thanks.

Just follow them home!

I'm glad you had a good day yesterday. Our church prayed for Manny before we opened our service.

Thank you for praying for Manny. He did an awesome job! God used his message to impact several lives. No salvations were reported, but several were on their knees in prayer to God after the message.

Jamie, we've been seriously thinking that a Guest Book would be ideal. Thanks for your comments.

Couldn't you just implant computer chips in their hands while they're not looking?

Well, I guess if you don't want to do that, then here's something (very similar to cards). We use a bulletin that has a perforated tab that can be used for prayer requests, ministry opportunities, and guest info. It seems to be effective to have an all-in-one unit (bulletin, prayer card, guest info, ministry opportunity request, etc). But then again, it may not work too good for y'all, so there you go...

We use the perforated tab as well, but not too many guests are giving us their info.

We'll keep trying! Thanks for all of your comments.

We have a special time when I come up every service and have everyone fill out a "Connection Card" We get 95% of our first time guests info. Some are just not going to fill them out. But if you give them time to do it and tell everyone to fill one out, more will. Our band then kicks into about 45 seconds of "Connection Card Music". This gives them nothing else to do but fill it out. Just what we do.
Hope it helps.
